Roots emerge
Glowing lines branch outward, exposing the invisible foundations of growth.

Growth becomes knowledge. Knowledge becomes a structure reaching towards tomorrow. One story, told through two metaphors: roots that ground us, and books that build what comes next.

A genuine excerpt from the film—watch the roots appear below the surface.
The visual treatment begins with a tree above the surface while roots spread beneath it. That image becomes a metaphor for success: what people see above ground is supported by knowledge, effort and capabilities taking shape underneath.
The narrative then moves from nature to people—skills, ideas, teamwork and planning. In the second half, the books themselves become construction materials, stacked and lifted beside an engineering crane. Knowledge becomes the architecture of achievement.
Rather than simply saying that success needs foundations, I chose to show those foundations forming.

The visual language progresses from nature to people, to construction, then an opening towards the future. Select a chapter to explore the film’s narrative decisions.

Four precise, minimal storyboard panels based on key scenes: roots, learner, crane and books, and the future gateway. Compare the outlined composition with the finished film frame.

Four excerpts from the actual film: high-quality MP4 loops that play silently without controls. The accompanying stills are extracted from the same footage.

Disciplines and skills appear around the protagonist, making abstract capabilities visual.

The crane and stacked books form the film’s central transformation: learning into achievement.

An evolving linear gateway closes the film’s visual argument with the idea of forward progress.

I was responsible for the visual treatment of the script, storyboarding, illustration, 2D animation, editing, sound effects and their timing, rhythmic pacing, and final direction. I balanced metaphorical imagery with clear explanatory scenes so that the message remained legible as the visual world evolved.
I began with the stillness of the tree and growing roots, then gradually shifted to more active compositions around the character, culminating in a crane building book towers. This progression makes the move from foundation to construction intuitive.
The timing follows the emergence of roots, appearances of ideas and icons, and the lifting of books. I aligned sound effects to on-screen actions to make each transition feel purposeful.
